About
This blog features many useful tips, tricks, and how-to guides within the web design and development niche. It can also be a place for inspiration and discovering new things within the practice. My ultimate goal for writing this blog is to share any new findings I have as a web designer and developer, and to inspire others to learn new things as well.
Hopefully the type of content on this blog can be useful for other designers of any type, developers, business people, and especially those just starting out with a desire to be in a similar field. So take advantage of any free resources, study best practices, or learn something new to grow as a web professional.
Who Am I?
My name is Kayla Knight, and I am a full-time freelance web designer and developer. Among working with clients, I also enjoy writing and blogging in the niche, and have written for many top blogs including Smashing Magazine, Web Designer Depot, and Six Revisions. Last year, I also got to co-author The Smashing Book.
From a freelance perspective, I focus on website/UI design, PHP/MySQL development, and Wordpress theme design and customization. I love to work with start-ups or small companies, as I like to focus my designs around the goals of a business, and meeting that business’s online needs. As a senior at university, I am majoring in Fine Arts & Web Development, and am excited to also add Flash development, ASP.NET, and a number of other technologies to my skill list.
If you’d like to find out more about my work, visit my portfolio. I’m taking on more projects at the moment, so feel free to get in touch to discuss a project via the form, or by emailing me directly at info@kaylaknight.com.
